The Usher Ministry serves the congregation by providing a welcoming, hospitable atmosphere and assuring the orderly progress of the liturgy. Ushers welcome people as they come to church, assist in seating people in the church, take up the collection, and generally see that good order is maintained before and during the liturgy. They are an integral part of our hospitality and in the forming of memorable impressions, especially of our first-time visitors.
If middle school or high school students would like to serve and get service hours, they may serve with a parent. This Ministry is also a wonderful opportunity for a family to serve together
The primary role of an usher is to help with the flow of Mass from beginning to end. Ushers welcome and greet parishioners and assist in seating, support the Mass Coordinators when needed, help take collection, invite others to bring the offering to the Priest (bread, wine, collection basket) and most importantly, be a welcoming and inclusive presence.
